Our Story
Callie and John met early in their Freshman year at UCLA through mutual friends, but it was not until one fateful night, over a year later, on the dance floor of a fraternity party that their true story began. Callie nervously asked John to her date party the next week, and he excitedly said yes. They started dating (~officially~) their Junior year, and the rest is history.
After graduation, they both stayed in West LA. Callie started Physical Therapy School at USC (BOO!!) and John began working for "The Man" (also BOO!!). They enjoyed many sunset picnic dates, beach volleyball games, and bottomless mimosa brunches with their close friends.
Career opportunities eventually then took them to Boston for an unexpected adventure. They have loved their time there so far, moving in together, exploring new cities in the Northeast, and making many life-long friends.
First Date Party | Feb 2016
The first date party Callie asked John to Sophomore year. The theme was "Throw Down for your Hometown", and we wore our hometown basketball jerseys.
Barcelona | Mar 2018
We went to Barcelona and Madrid for our Senior year Spring Break with a group of friends and had an amazing time sightseeing, trying new foods, and exploring the cities.
UCLA Grad | Jun 2018
After attending many of the same classes together, we graduated with degrees in Physiological Science (Callie) and Neuroscience (John). Our parents also met each other for the first time over graduation weekend!
Grand Canyon | Mar 2019
We backpacked the Grand Canyon for two nights with Callie's dad, brother, and uncle.
PT School Grad | May 2021
Callie graduated from USC with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, at least there will be one Dr. Hodson...
Aruba | Aug 2021
Soon after moving to Boston, we took a trip to Aruba before starting our new jobs. We had a wonderful time, and everyone we met thought we were on our honeymoon.
Boston | Oct 2021
After a few months of living Boston, we found our favorite spots to hang out in the city, including the rooftop at the Envoy Hotel, where we have spent many summer days with our friends.
The Proposal | Apr 2023
John proposed to Callie in Encinitas, CA! He planned a beautiful oceanside proposal and surprised her by inviting several of our close friends to celebrate with us afterwards. It was the best weekend ever!

We continue to love living in Boston together, and we can't wait for what marriage has in store for us!
